I was invited to join a croquet (pronounced crowkie here, rhymes with smokey) event yesterday. I gave it a whirl and it is much tougher than it looks. It is played on what amounts to a huge rectangular putting green. My partner, Manly (pictured), and I managed to dispense with our foes on 2 occasions. We were undefeated. Of course, I should tell you that Manly is the defending club champion (he got stuck with the American). The sheepish woman in the photograph is one of the losers. Her partner had already escaped for a spot of tea. It was fun and the sun gave me a burn wherever I didn't have sunscreen.
Brenda and Chris missed their connection in Auckland and are arriving on a later plane. They are due to arrive at 1:00pm as opposed to 9:45am.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you Scott. I am sure you are thrilled to have Brenda and Chris there with you. I hope you have great weather to enjoy your activities. We have had a lot of snow in Minnesota. Duluth has received 40 inches of snow already this year. Bobbi and I will be going to the North Shore tomorrow after dinner with Mom. I am sure there will be plenty of snowmobiling. Yipee.

Scott - I have tried to leave a couple of messages, but I think I have finally got it figured out. Sounds like a very interesting place to visit and a real shock to the seasonal system when it is the begiining of summer there huh?? I hope you have a great time. Julene and Family left on Wed., so, it has been pretty quiet around here, but we did have a great Christmas. Happy new year to all.
